Linking learning objects

I like forma for many reasons and am still discovering about it as I try to do things. I do have some questions though.

I have had quite a lot of experience using other systems, like moodle and blackboard and there is a feature of moodle I quite like. I wonder if it is possible to reproduce it in forma. In forma, the learning objects are listed one after another. In moodle, the same is also true except that there is an additional object called a label which enables you to write text *between* any object. That way, you can connect the learning objects to one another with some text, perhaps creating a story or an argument where some text leads in to using or reading the learning object.
e.g.
Label: Once upon a time there were three bears
Learning Object: Link to YT video of the 3 bears
Label: What do you think of this story? To see the opinions of others, please read the following three files.
etc...
Would it be possible to reproduce a similar structure in forma???

Thanks for your help.
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

no, this feature is not possible in Forma.

Hi Max,

That's a real shame... given the way I work... Why not create a "Label" object ;) - would not be very difficult (I think) and could add a nice dimension to the system... If possible, I do not want to have to manage two LMS systems: one for this kind of work and one for that kind of work. I would rather do it all in forma

Hi Andrew,
if I understood what you want to achieve, I think you can do it with Forma's native features. Like this:
- create a new LO, html file
- write instructions in the upper part
- insert youtube videos or whatever you want to embed
- insert other instructions under the videos
- attach as many files as you want (the html page comes with the possibility to attach files)

What do you think of this solution?

You can use folders...

Thank you max and alfa24. Yes I know about the wewbpage LO and thought of it - but what I need more is to protect my content through access control. Maybe... just maybe... I can upload files etc to forma and then embed the *forma* URL into the forma html LO and that would work. I will try it and report back.

Thanks for the ideas.

A parent protection for folders should exist or simply developed.

Well... that idea seems to work quite well though, perhaps, it does not quite bring you back to where you started from. I will check some more... So that is good news. Anyway, uploaded files are protected as are SCORM files - that may well solve my issue.

Thanks all
