Video embed by non Super Admin users

When a user uploads a media file, or links to a youtube video through the insert/edit media link in the relevant editor (inside HTML Learning Objects), the iframe and media shows whilst still in edit mode. As soon as the user saves the edited page, the iframe and all contents disappear. This does not happen when using a super admin user, but all other levels of users are affected.
I'm running version 2.0 - is there a fix that I could apply? I have several users and clients complaining about this issue.

The post is not helpful as there is no resolution to this issue. We've implemented the changes on the post with no effect...

I am a developer - I've also looked at fixes within StackOverflow which are not helping...
From the previous posts it also seems that the issue was resolved for a time in 2.1 but then reappeared in 2.2...
