It is a change that requires HR departments to redefine training models to develop increasingly engaging initiatives by exploiting digital technologies.

Digital is indeed an enabler of new training models that, through mobile devices and Cloud platforms, respond to the new way of working, communicating and collaborating in organizations, helping companies to face the challenges of speed, change, skills updating and soft skills imposed by the global market. After all, the same employees expect the same level of quality and ease of use at work of the networks and devices that accompany them everywhere and, even more so, millennials expect the same digital approach in the office.

 

In line with these changes, organizational learning is transformed into an immersive and engaging experience where the user is the focus of the whole process. Hence the concept of "user experience design" (UX), a term coined for the first time in May 2007 by Niels Floor, a pioneer in user experience design studies. When we talk about User experience design we mean the design of the user experience; that is, the process aimed at increasing user satisfaction and loyalty by improving usability and the pleasure provided in the interaction between user and technology. User experience is particularly concerned with the interaction of the person with technology, including interface, graphics, design, physical and manual interaction.

Instead, Learning experience design (LX Design) - taking its cue from user experience design - is a process that involves the creation of learning experiences that allow you to achieve the expected level of competence according to a person-oriented and goal-oriented approach.

 

Learning experience design uses a design process that typically includes: research, experimentation, conception, conceptualization, prototyping, iteration and testing. Far from being systematic, the LXD is a creative process with a result that seems uncertain at the beginning and clearer towards the end. Just like in any other design discipline, LX Designers use a mix of creative, conceptual, intellectual and analytical qualities to find smart solutions that work. The main difference compared to other design disciplines consists precisely in facilitating the learning process.
